Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This policy sets out what our software and services may not be used for. It applies to every account. Breaching it is a breach of the Terms of Service.

2. Prohibited use

You may not use our software or services to:

• break any law that applies to you or to us;
• gain unauthorised access to any system, account or data, or attempt to;
• send unsolicited bulk messages, or operate any part of a spam or phishing operation;
• launch or take part in a denial-of-service attack, or scan, probe or flood third-party systems;
• distribute malware, ransomware or credential-stealing software;
• infringe someone else's intellectual property;
• produce, store or distribute material depicting the sexual abuse of children — we report this to the authorities without exception and without notice to the account holder;
• harass, threaten, defraud or impersonate another person;
• evade sanctions, or use the service from a country or by a person subject to sanctions that apply to us;
• resell, sublicense or share access outside the limits your subscription allows;
• interfere with our service, our infrastructure or other customers' use of either.

3. Reporting abuse

Report abuse of our service to security@ankelabs.com. Include what happened, when, and any evidence you have. We investigate every report we receive.

4. What we do about it

Depending on what we find, we may warn the account holder, suspend the account, terminate it, or report the matter to the relevant authorities. Where the conduct is serious or ongoing we act first and explain afterwards.

We do not refund a subscription terminated for a breach of this policy, other than where the law requires it.

5. Requests from authorities

We respond to properly issued, legally binding requests, and we produce only what the request actually covers. Send such requests to legal@ankelabs.com. We do not act on informal requests, and we do not disclose customer data to private parties without a court order.
